RAF DELIVERS FOOD TO THE HOMELESS

On Friday 21 st December 2007, three volunteers from RAF Marham will be delivering food parcels donated from The Buckingham Emergency Food Appeal (BEFA) to residents living in St Matthew Housing (SMH) supported accommodation in Kings Lynn and Dereham.

Every year RAF Marham help distribute the vast quantities of food, such as soups, pies, sugar and potatoes, which BEFA have collected for those in need in the county.

BEFA have also made a donation of £126 to Merchants Terrace, an SMH house in Kings Lynn, to pay for extra food for residents Christmas and Boxing Day meals.

Katie Smith, Supported Housing Manager at Merchants Terrace said, “We would like to thank The Buckingham Emergency Food Appeal and RAF Marham for their generous donations.

“We really appreciated the time and effort of the volunteers from RAF Marham who collect the donations and then deliver them to all the local homeless shelters and to supported accommodation like ours.

“This can be a difficult time of year for some of our residents but the extra food enables them to have a more fulfilling Christmas.”
